About this place Myrtiotissa Beach

Myrtiotissa is a small, wild beach on Corfu's west coast between Pelekas and Vatos, below the tiny Myrtiotissa monastery. It has been one of Greece's best-known naturist beaches for decades, and gay travellers have been going there for just as long. The crowd is mixed, though: naturists, couples, some families, and a few clothed day-trippers. You get down on foot by a steep, rough track, and the walk back up in the afternoon heat is the hard part. There is little shade and almost nothing in the way of facilities beyond a seasonal kiosk in summer, so bring water, food and something to sit under. Mornings and late afternoons are quieter and cooler.

We have been coming to Corfu for 10 years and we discovered this beautiful beach that introduced us to clean naturism, a unique environment. As the years went by, unfortunately, the desire to commercialize everything and the voyeuristic obsession of the average tourist who does not look beyond their own nose have transformed this small cove into a chaos of sunbeds and people who come to photograph the "naturist/nudist" as if they were a sideshow attraction. Talking about it with the lady who runs the small kiosk, we understood that the situation is not recoverable, because they too are driven by the desire to make money, rather than preserving a unique spot that by now will remain only a memory in our minds.

Had previously visited in 2024 where this beach was amazing. Visited again in 2026 and it was quite disappointed. A lot of the sand seems to have disappeared thus the beach is now much smaller. Moreover 80% of the remaining space is occupied by sun beds (you are not allowed to remove them!). The beach is now visited by too many people and to make it worse, many are non-nudists. The beach itself is still beautiful. Parking can be difficult and the step hill to reach there might not be for everyone. All-in-all would still recommend a visit to anyone ideally before 10am or after 6pm when there are less people and possible easier to find a place to stay. Sadly, however, it is no longer my favorite beach in Corfu.

The beach of Myrtiotissa has crystal clear waters and natural wild beauty. But access by car is not so comfortable. Not even with a machine. The best thing someone can do is to park in the parking lot next to a store and walk to it. On the way back, the climb requires patience, but the shop at the top has a great kitchen and a shaded area to catch your breath. Another thing to note is the presence of nudists! They coexist with bathers in swimsuits without a problem.

Tiny beach, full of people and not even enough space to lay out a towel. Half of the beach is occupied by naturists. The other half by paid umbrellas. A very steep climb to get there.

After 26 years of using this beach it is now sadly ruined by tourism and greed. Over crowded with sunbeds over priced. No room to move this use to be an amazing beach both for locals and tourists. Now don’t waste your time.

The beach is now disfigured: a concession granted and plastered by the rights holders now makes it a mattress park over 80% of its surface. 60 cm of row, 30 cm between each mattress: you can barely settle in. Furthermore, the managers do not clean... this beach, our favorite on Corfu for 8 years, is now filthy. What a disappointment...

A dreamily beautiful beach, but unfortunately totally overcrowded!! There is hardly anything to be seen of the beautiful beach. Absolutely overcrowded!! There are hardly any parking options! Driving up is almost impossible because the curve is blocked by parked cars; the road is really extremely steep and slippery! Not recommended!

Very disappointing. Not worth going to. Was here on June 29, 2026. Used to come to this beach a lot. But is still a third smaller than last year. Stuffed with about 65 to 70 sunbeds. For the price of 20,- Euro. There are 5 rows of sunbeds, the first directly on the waterfront and the last against the rock face. You can hardly walk between them. Most sunbeds are not occupied. The landlords also do not comply with their license, officially about 4 meters along the water must be left free. On the left side of the beach there is still a space available of approximately 12 by 20 meters. Which is full of people who don't want to rent a sunbed. At one point there were about 45 people lower down there lying side by side and head to ass. You have to step over people to get in the water. This used to be a nudist beach but now most of the people are in swimwear. Overall a great disappointment. Save yourself the trouble of going here.

Very disappointed, we had been going to this beach regularly for many years. The beach has become a succession of sunbathers piled on top of each other. Prices have increased by 30% compared to last year. Moreover, the beach is reduced to a mere shadow, less than 100 meters long and 15 meters wide. When you are on the sun loungers behind, you practically have to step on the people in front to access the sea. And it is no longer a naturist beach.
