Queer Bar is positioned in the Oltrarno — the "other side of the Arno" that locals have always considered more authentic and less touristic than the north bank. Via dei Serragli is a long residential street in the heart of the Oltrarno, lined with artisan workshops, independent restaurants and neighbourhood bars. Queer Bar fits this character: it is an explicitly LGBTQ+-welcoming space that operates as a normal neighbourhood cocktail bar with particular appeal to the queer community. The interior is small and warmly lit, the cocktails are well-made and not overpriced for Florence (a city where tourist pricing is ubiquitous), and the crowd is a genuine mix of local gay men and women, artists and designers from the surrounding neighbourhood, and LGBTQ+ visitors staying south of the Arno. Good aperitivo. Open from 18:00 daily.

My expectations for Queer in Florence were very high based on what I saw on social media. However, the experience was quite different: the place lacks charisma and gives the impression of being somewhat improvised. I've visited other venues that offer a more solid and appealing concept. I believe this place has many areas for improvement and could become a venue that truly reflects what it promises in its marketing.

The bar on it self is nice. It’s small but this doesn’t matter. What matters is the waiter, he served u beer for each 7€! Not even in Vienna you will find a bar where you‘re going to pay the same price! So they are scamming tourists! That’s sad because the vibe was nice.
