Baila, Cariño is a gay bar and club on Calle de Santa Engracia in Madrid, open Friday and Saturday nights.
It’s a place for dancing and music, with gogo performances adding to the show. You pay 15€ to get in, which includes your first drink. That’s a pretty standard deal for a club night here.
Madrid’s gay scene spreads out across neighborhoods, with spots for just about any mood. Baila, Cariño is definitely for the weekend crowd that wants to move. The DJ keeps the dance floor going, the gogos are up there, and there’s a bar area if you just want to talk. It’s got that high-energy club feel many look for in a city’s LGBTQ+ nightlife.
Just remember it’s strictly a Friday and Saturday thing. And like most places in Madrid, it’s smart to check their Facebook page or other social media before you go; they often post about themed nights or who’s performing.

Due to COVID, it's not what it used to be. They have tables, but as the night goes on, people get out of control and safety measures are lacking. The food is basic: frozen meals, onion rings, cheese sticks, and not much else.
Wonderful for celebrating
I'm giving it one star because I can't give it less, so I'll share my experience: We arrived in line at 2:15, a group of five. At 3:50, the bouncer told us that only two people could enter. I replied that the three of us had to wait until 6:00, since it wasn't worth paying for it. The rude bouncer (a bald one) told me that if I didn't like it, I should leave, that I hadn't even been inside yet and I was already making a fuss (just for asking). After finally getting in after 4:30, they charged us 18 euros for a drink (the most expensive we paid for at that club). But wait, to order a Jägermeister/Red Bull, you have to pay extra! What kind of joke is this? I'm never going back, and I won't recommend it. Outrageous.
