About this place Parque de Maria Luisa (cruising area)

Parque de Maria Luisa is Seville's grandest park, and its quieter southern paths - the stretches running parallel to Avenida de la Palmera toward the Fuente de los Leones - are the city's longest-standing outdoor cruising area, known locally as a spot for cancaneo, the Sevillano slang for cruising. Activity picks up in the evening; in high summer, when daytime temperatures are brutal, it moves to after midnight. The dense, shaded garden layout is what makes the park work for discretion, but the same features mean unlit paths at night. Practical notes: the park nominally closes overnight, so late visits carry some risk of being moved on. Keep valuables minimal, stay aware of your surroundings, and remember that public sexual activity remains an offence under Spanish public order rules even in tolerated areas. Long-standing and tolerated does not mean official.
