Whistler Pride Festival
About This Event
Whistler's winter Pride week goes back to 1992, when it began as Altitude Gay Ski Week. It is held in the ski resort of Whistler, about two hours north of Vancouver, in the last week of January. The festival changed hands for 2026: Tourism Whistler ended its deal with the producer who had run the Whistler Pride and Ski Festival since 2019, citing unresolved financial issues after the January 2025 edition. It now runs as the Whistler Pride Festival, produced by Vancouver's TFD Presents with Tourism Whistler, and is not linked to whistlerpride.com.
The week is built around the mountain. There are free daily ski and snowboard groups for anyone with a lift ticket, a free après series in the Village, ticketed parties and venue takeovers, and a Rainbow Ski Out and Pride Parade down Whistler Mountain into the Village. Newer programming adds spaces for women, youth and gender-diverse guests.
The relaunch ran 25 January to 1 February 2026, put together in about three weeks. The 2027 festival is listed for 24 to 31 January 2027, with the full programme due in the autumn.
