About this place Coral Sands Motel

The Coral Sands Motel is a gay-friendly spot half a block from Hollywood Boulevard, putting you right in the thick of it.

It's a two-story place, pretty basic, but the Hollywood/Western metro stop is only a three-minute walk. That means you can skip the rental car and still get around Los Angeles. If you're seeing a show, the Hollywood Bowl amphitheater is just under two miles away.

Rooms and suites open onto a central courtyard, which has an outdoor pool and Jacuzzi. Nothing fancy, but good enough for a dip after dealing with LA traffic or just soaking up the sun. Inside, you get free WiFi, a TV, a minifridge, a coffeemaker, and your own bathroom. Some suites have a separate living area if you need more room. There's also a shared microwave and coin laundry, which comes in handy for longer trips.

This motel is for LGBTQ+ travelers who want something affordable and straightforward in a busy area. You won't find much in the way of frills here. But the courtyard and pool can be a good place to meet other guests, and you're right in the middle of Hollywood's restaurants, shops, and nightlife.

We were very satisfied here. Clean rooms, daily room service. Very friendly staff. Nice indoor pool and whirlpool. The location is excellent. There are many authentic, good restaurants in Thaitown just around the corner.

Stayed in October 2018. The motel is very close to the Hollywood/Western metro station. Everything is a bit dated, but it's very clean. The rooms aren't huge, but they're adequate for sleeping. The bathroom is small but functional. The shower is large. The closet has a safe, coffee maker, and mini-fridge. There's air conditioning and a flat-screen TV, but with limited channels. WiFi is included in the room rate and works reasonably well. They made the beds every day of my stay, cleaned the room and bathroom, and changed the towels daily. I can recommend it to anyone who isn't expecting much, but at a reasonable price for Los Angeles. I forgot, there's a pool and a hot tub right next door. The motel also has ample free parking all around the building. Of course, the front desk will issue a coupon to display on the dashboard of your car so it won't be towed. It was really convenient and practical. (Parking is expensive in Los Angeles.)

The hotel is okay. We stayed for two nights. The bathroom was quite small, and the room was outdated. The good thing was the free parking at the hotel and the fact that it was quite close to the Walk of Fame; it was also easily accessible on foot.
