About this place The OUT NYC Hotel

The OUT NYC at 510 West 42nd Street is New York City's only explicitly LGBTQ+-branded hotel — a distinction that was unique in the American hotel market when it opened and that it has maintained through the years since. The property is a boutique hotel in the Hell's Kitchen neighbourhood — strategically positioned at the centre of Manhattan's contemporary gay bar scene — with a rooftop pool, an in-house gay bar and lounge (The Out Bar), and a design sensibility that integrates art, LGBT history, and contemporary aesthetic into the physical space of the building. Staff recruitment is drawn from the LGBTQ+ community, which changes the character of the guest experience in practical terms: the concierge recommendations are based on actual knowledge of the city's gay scene rather than generic hospitality knowledge. The rooftop pool is operational in summer and is a social space in its own right — one of the few rooftop pool situations in midtown Manhattan that is specifically for gay guests. The West 42nd Street address places it between the Hell's Kitchen bar cluster to the north and the Times Square area to the east, with the High Line and Chelsea accessible on foot to the south. An essential base for LGBTQ+ visitors who want their accommodation to be part of the experience rather than simply a place to sleep.

Bad service and actitud. The employees treats the guest like they are not that welcome. Specially if you arrive at night from a long flight or a busy day in the city. The check in it's a 4pm so, it's probably that you are going to make your check in at night. But the welcome moment at the front desk have a lot of opportunities to improve. Bad face, they don't give enough information, you have to discover all by yourself and if you ask you get a rude answer. It's almost like their are doing a special favor for you. And the truth is that you are paying and the one who it's the guest: it's you. Please speak with your employees and train them better. Specially the girl who works at the front desk named Roxy. It's a shame that we (costumers) have to go over here looking for better service. It's my first time writing a bad review. But I felt that was necessary. Train them better. You can do it better! (I am not from US, if my English is not perfect).
