Worst experience while visiting New Zealand do not stay here. First, the air conditioner has been down for close to 6 months (from reading older google reviews) bit they don’t mention this until you check in. Didn’t seem like the end of the world as there is a door and window in the room, except the homeless people like to have nightly parties a 3 am in the morning screaming, yelling and playing loud music. So had to choose to either stay cool and comfortable, or not listen to the homeless half the night, not enjoyable. Cleanliness is low. Carpet feels dirty and there mold in bathroom, no body soap or shampooo in shower either. Maintenance is horrible, cracked tiles, grout missing. Best part in bathroom was seeing a couple of ants crawl by. Thank god we didn’t start our trip off in New Zealand here and got to experience the beauty of the country before this. One of the worst hotels I have stayed at.

Clean tidy rooms, comfortable beds, good views if on higher levels. Just be careful going outside the building at night lot's of aggressive males scattered up and down Grey's ave

Great city get away for me and my 12yr old son at the Parkside Hotel. Great view, had a handy kitchenette, very spacious room, comfy bed, aircon and fabulous spa bath! Close to aotea square and the civic, we look forward to staying again
