What reviewers say

Visitors praise the good atmosphere and selection of drinks, especially for watching sports on big screens. However, multiple reviews strongly advise against the beef dishes, describing the meat as having an unpleasant taste and being poorly handled by staff when complaints were raised.

About this place Pan Club

Pan Club is Aarhus's equivalent of a gay community centre with a bar and dancefloor attached — the venue that has been serving the LGBTQ+ community in Denmark's second city longer than any other. The club occupies a space on Jægergårdsgade in the Frederiksbjerg neighbourhood, a short walk from the city centre, and operates both as a regular bar and as a club night venue with DJ programming on weekends. Pan Club's role extends well beyond nightlife: it is the organisational base for Aarhus Pride, a community meeting place, and the venue that most reliably captures the social life of Aarhus's gay community across all ages and identities. The club nights skew toward a mixed LGBTQ+ crowd — the student university population ensures a younger demographic on Friday and Saturday nights, while the weekday evenings draw a more regular local clientele. For visitors to Aarhus who want to understand the city's gay community rather than just visit its bars, Pan Club is the essential stop: it is simultaneously the oldest, the most community-rooted, and the most reliably busy LGBTQ+ venue in Jutland.

Quality food. (Get the Panenka Burger!) Quality Atmosphere. Live World Cup on massive TV’s. Even in the toilet! 😂 Cider and beers on draft. Would recommend.

I stopped by Panenka Bar to see if I could book a table for Saturday's match between Norway and England. Unfortunately, the experience was not very good. There was no welcome when I entered, and when I asked if it was possible to book a table, I was simply told: “You can send an email.” I was a bit surprised, as I was physically standing at the bar to make a booking. When I subsequently asked for the email address, it was met with a sigh and a very unengaged attitude. I don't expect anything special, but a little friendliness and service should be a given when visiting a bar. Unfortunately, it left a pretty bad first impression.

The staff sighed at us when we asked for a contact email to reserve a table.
