About this place Café Ziggy

Café Ziggy occupies a position in the Latin Quarter — the medieval street grid immediately around Aarhus Cathedral — that places it at the social heart of the city's daytime and early-evening life. The café operates as a coffee shop through the day and transitions to a bar in the evening, with a clientele that is broadly mixed but has a strong and consistent LGBTQ+ following. The atmosphere is relaxed and low-key — this is not a dedicated gay bar in the sense of Pan Club, but rather the kind of gay-friendly neighbourhood café that the Danish social model reliably produces: a place where the welcome is so natural that the label is almost redundant. Café Ziggy is a good option for a daytime visit to Aarhus, offering coffee and something to eat in a central location, and a reliable early-evening drink before moving on to Pan Club or the wider Latin Quarter nightlife.

Recommended this place by a friend. It’s a little out of the way so we made a special visit to get there but it was so worth it. Lovely atmosphere, great service and food was delicious. I had the open sandwiches and the rest of the party had burgers and pancakes which were equally as good. Would defo recomend!

Ordered large breakfast board 155,- which consists of Shrambled eggs with sausages, chicken salad, fruit, old knas, whipped butter and skyr topped with strawberry compot & granola. Option: pancakes with chocolate syrup 25,-. Option: bacon 15,-. However, I missed the option and it was wise because there was plenty of food. The service was nice and overall a good experience. I never get used to having to pay DKK 50 for a finger bowl of a cappuccino, but it's probably the juden in me.

Great food and great menu. Delicious food and good service. A bit cold in the restaurant but really cozy place for family visits.

No matter boring service, not even a smile was there on the lips. The food is good and tasty, large portions, they recommend 2-3 dishes for us from their brunch menu, I will settle for 3 to share, also you are full in a good way.

We had planned to go for a walk in the forest and then enjoy a few hours here at Ziggy. It was a wonderful evening, lots of good time, which was full when we arrived at 17.30 and got our table. The service was absolutely superb and no stress on "getting us through". A delicious espresso and a latte while we decided on a Halloumi salad with avocado and extra bread. Beer and water. Finished with a delicious Chai Latte. When we were about to leave, there were almost no guests, so a little chat with the staff also happened. So friendly and happy and we thanked them for the fine service and wonderful experience. We will come again 😀

We were going to celebrate our anniversary with a lunch in town. This time we chose Ziggy. We arrived at a café that oozed atmosphere and was actually quite full for Friday lunch. However, we could choose a table ourselves, but many of the tables were left with used crockery. - still the atmosphere was nice. We waited a long time for a waiter to come to take our order, but she was both sweet, smiling and service minded. We again waited a long time for our order. The food looked really delicious and nice, unfortunately there wasn't much flavor in the Ziggy burger. Ziggy serves sourdough bread with other dishes, so it surprises me that they choose to serve a bun with their burger. Their food, on the other hand, was wonderful. We'll come again sometime, but we'll make sure we have a really good time and never order a burger from them again.

Came in on an Sunday. Ziggy haves the "usual" menu card and are in general very generic. Food was decent but not very interesting and not vey tastefull. Service, well you order at the counter and then they bring it to the table. Drinks were cold:)

came at around 19.30 and the cafe was full. the area Trojborg is living again - there were practically no parking available. we had a tappas plate and a good bear from Carlsbergs special line. The plate was OK, but with room for improvement, e.g. the Aioli.

gave Ziggy many chances, I left rather disappointed every time. Staff is friendly and all but the food is just not tasty for me. Their Christmas specialties like risalamande or gløg or æbleskiver are really not special. Not tasty. Their wine snacks are also not very tasty. I added the pics of the Sidewalk potatoes with chilli mayo and nachos. Their portions are big enough though. That I'll give it to them :)

We chose to stop by to grab a lunch at Café Ziggy in the outdoor seating due to the hot summer weather. Firstly we waited for more than half an hour after ordering for a couple of sandwiches from the menu, though there wasn’t many people. When we got the sandwiches, they lacked taste, was too plain for the paid price. Sorry but it used to be a great place to eat.
