Tignes Val Claret

Great ski area overall, with excellent infrastructure and variety of slopes. However, signage regarding pedestrian access to lifts is not always clear. Some chairlifts do not indicate whether access without skis is allowed, which can be confusing for international visitors who are not familiar with local practices. In my case, this lack of clarity even resulted in delays returning down the mountain, impacting onward travel arrangements. This is a relatively small issue, but it has a real impact on the overall experience and could be easily improved with clearer signage at lift entrances (e.g. “pedestrians allowed / not allowed”).

Had a great weekend in Tignes. The resort is fantastic!

I've been to several famous domaines in France, I thought I'd seen the best until I went to Tignes

Very good skiing, even in April, particularly on the Grande Motte glacier.

Everything about Tignes is fantastic especially early season and late season as it is so high

Wonderful ski vacation! Big resort, lots of fast lifts, plenty of wide open pistes for all levels, lots of off-piste terrain, easy to get around. Favorite run: Grand Motte Glacier to Double M down to Val Claret. Favorite on-mountain lodge: Panoramic; great food at the best prices in Tignes - Val d'Isere, with am amazing view. Lodging: stay at the big apartment building closest to Le Lac: best location for ski-in/out, restaurants, shops, apres-ski bars, groceries, and parking...something for everyone.
