I think style over substance is a very suitable description of my own experience. On arrival for our three night stay, we tried to book dinner on any night and it was not available. I wondered why they’d not mentioned this in the many many emails telling me how great it wads in the 8 week run up from booking to arriving. In essence, turning a hotel into a bed and breakfast! Did I mention the front door was broken and you entered from a fire escape! The room boasts of a record player . Perhaps you should check occasionally if they work. Mine needed a replacement needle. Anyway, an attractive non functioning tat is not required. Worst of all was the fact that my room door had previously been jimmied open but not repaired. The loose door reverberating like the sound of someone entering your room….ever time anyone on my floor opened their door. Dis I mention the rusty bath legs of the fancy bath on the balcony feature. Yep, couldn’t wait to jump into that rotting death trap. Once you start looking, you really start to se the dirt. Even the relief room numbers look great from a distance but have never been cleaned and are quite disgusting close up. Apart from the the staff seemed happy and honest.

Beautiful rooms, ideally facing the park, which is quieter. The breakfast is first-class, and the rooftop bar is unbeatable.

I paid €260 for this room and was very disappointed. The room wasn't clean upon arrival, and the bathtub was badly rusted. When I reported this to reception, I was simply told that the room should have been clean. Nothing was done about it, and no solution was offered. For that price, I expected significantly better cleanliness and service. It's a shame, as the problem wasn't handled professionally. There wasn't even coffee in the room.
