About this place El Gato Lounge

El Gato Lounge is the daytime heart of gay Torremolinos: a beachfront restaurant and cocktail lounge on the Bajondillo promenade, directly in front of the stretch of sand where the gay crowd lays its towels. The kitchen runs from breakfast through dinner with a Mediterranean-international menu, and afternoon DJ sets carry the terrace into the evening. Closed Wednesdays outside high season. Together with Eden Beach Club a few doors along, it is the reason the beach in front is simply called El Gato / Eden Beach by most visitors.

Wonderful place. I visited here with my wife, and it was a great experience with the food and atmosphere! The food is priced at very reasonable price and the staff was very good with recommendations. Daman, who works here especially had a great attitude and helped us with our orders. Overall, much recommended when you are around for a quick bite and a drink.

Very tasty mexican food. Extremely friendly staff. Sufficient sitting space with a nice view. They have a lot of options for vegetarians too. Must visit if you are staying in Torremolino. 👍

Ordered burritos. They were fine. The meat was cubed and the flavour a little bland. It was like something I'd get from a fast food burrito place. It wasn't bad or anything it was ok. It was presented well it must be difficult to plate something that usually is purchased as street food and comes wrapped in foil. The staff and service was good. I don't think I'd go again though. If you are thinking of trying it then do, you won't be come away thinking that it's bad or anything. We tried it because they have a few gluten free options of tacos and enchiladas. So if you require gf maybe try it for that aspect.

The food had very little to do with mexican food. The guacamole tasted like it had no avocado in it- or the cheapest dip from the supermarket. The drink we tried, tinto de verano was also poor quality. Service was ok.

We ordered nachos and a burrito ,both were tasty! It wasn’t perfect, but it was a nice change to have something different while in Spain.
