The underground public men's toilets beneath Claraplatz, in central Kleinbasel next to the tram stop, are a long-listed toilet-cruising ('Klappe') spot. Activity is discreet and limited to the toilets' opening hours, roughly early morning to early evening. This is a busy public facility used by shoppers and commuters, so respect other users and keep a low profile. Switzerland is legally tolerant, but public sex is still an offence, and anyone causing a nuisance can be removed by police.
