The Golden Cross
Visitors praise the Golden Cross for its fabulous drag queens, excellent entertainment, and friendly atmosphere, with many calling it the only decent gay bar in Cardiff and planning return visits. However, one reviewer was very disappointed with how a medical emergency outside the pub was handled by staff and security, who reportedly dismissed the situation.

It wasn't very busy yet, and the service was friendly.
Arrived today 12.15pm . Was informed by extremely grumpy barman that he wasn't open . Though the advetised time was midday. Certainly won't be visiting again
Bad atmosphere from the second we entered, bar staff barely acknowledged us, we asked to use the toilets first. While in the toilets we decided not to stay or use the toilets as they were rather unpleasant so walked out. Snarky comments from gentleman behind bar as we left about “toilets being for customers only”. Had you have shown us any custom or hospitality we would’ve stayed. Never felt so unwanted as a queer person in an ‘LGBT space’. Wouldn’t go back and avoid at all costs. Bare in mind the place was DEAD.
Nice friendly pub. Sadly no Guinness but plenty of other beers available.
