Huge hostel, no kitchen or even basic facilities like kettle or microwave, some rooms don't have windows, I had to ask for toilet roll and hand soap as we ran out so bathrooms either aren't being cleaned or these things aren't being checked. Friendly staff. Unfortunately no comfortable area to hang out and meet people. Only good if you're passing through.
The rooms and beds were comfy, and the service was nice, and it was right near a large restaurant centre
Good
Safestay Charing Cross, Glasgow: Budget rooms for a premium price. The Room: It was small. While the bed and bathroom were clean, the floor was dirty and the blinds were filthy. The only saving grace was the large windows that opened, providing enough fresh air to keep the room sleepable. The Service & Security: The staff seemed more interested in chatting than actually checking guests in and out. We, along with several other guests, were locked out of our rooms by malfunctioning keycards. Crucially, when we asked them to fix it, the staff reprogrammed our cards without even validating our identity or confirming which room number the card was actually for. The hotel was incredibly noisy, and we were woken up several times every night. Location & Value: The surrounding neighbourhood is decrepit. Absolutely nothing about this hotel warrants the high price tag.
A great stay in a great location, at a fair price.
