Prospect Park, the large open park in west Reading off Liebenrood Road, has a long-standing, low-key reputation as an outdoor gay meeting and cruising spot, mentioned across UK cruising directories over the years. Activity is informal and concentrated in the wooded and quieter areas after dark; by day it is an ordinary public park with a café, playing fields and open grassland used by families and dog-walkers.
