About this place APX World Square

APX World Square is a 4.5-star apartment hotel located in Haymarket, Sydney's downtown area, positioned perfectly for LGBTQ+ travellers wanting easy access to the city's gay scene. Just a few blocks east, you'll find the vibrant nightlife and venues clustered around Oxford Street and heading towards Darlinghurst—Sydney's historic gay district. With Hyde Park nearby, you're also well-placed to explore the broader city on foot. The hotel offers flexible accommodation across studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments, so whether you're traveling solo or with friends, there's a layout to suit your needs. Most apartments feature balconies with city views. The studios come with kitchenettes, a sofa, and laundry facilities, while one and two-bedroom units offer full kitchens, separate bedrooms, and laundry—useful if you're staying longer or prefer to prepare some of your own meals. This apartment-style setup gives you more space and independence than a traditional hotel room. Staying here means you can enjoy the convenience of a central location without being directly in the busiest parts of Oxford Street, offering a quieter base while keeping the action within walking distance. It's a practical choice for visitors wanting modern, self-contained accommodation in a gay-friendly area with straightforward access to Sydney's LGBTQ+ venues, dining, and cultural scene.

Steer clear. I had a similar experience to Harry Lord. See the pic.

Big rooms with good kitchen facilities. Close to theatres and Central Station. On a subsequent visit, I was disappointed with the extremely slow wifi.

Great location nestled in the heart of Sydney. Be sure to only stay if you have a deal that doesn't exceed $150 as there are better/more luxurious hotels for the same normal rate of $250+. Service is non-existent and comes with a long check in. It's a convenient location but I only recommend staying for a night.

This hotel is my worst in Sydney. The price is expensive and the service is poor, especially the waiter at the front desk. The service is really bad. It's really a bad experience. I won't go back again

We were happy with our room. New carpet, lounge, bathroom and kitchen... plus a balcony. Quite spacious and clean. The beds were comfy and the location was great. The staff was pleasant enough but it would have been nice for them to greet us as we passed reception each time,if only with a smile and a nod. My only complaints...are that the sofa needed two cushions for extra comfort and that the lampshade in the bedroom area was tatty and needed replacing. On the whole though..good value for money. We will return for sure.

Hugely disappointed with APX. I booked via booking.com but called APX directly first to check room configuration and parking. The reservation assistant confirmed I could book a two bedroom apartment and parking was available onsite. I called when we were 5 mins away from arriving and was told there was parking at the front of the building, park up and come to reception to “see if parking is available “ …. There is NO parking at the front of the building. My husband double parked in the middle of the street while I unloaded my 3 month old and 2 yr old. My husband was given a swipe card and directed to the carpark only to discover there were no parks available. While he drove round Haymarket looking for parking, I took the children up to our room only to find we had two seperate one bedroom apartments, not connected to one another in anyway. Also, there was no cot. Just one ridiculous thing after another - avoid this place at all costs.
