Tbilisi Pride 2027

Tbilisi Pride, Georgia’s main LGBTQ+ rights demonstration and cultural festival, happens every June in the capital. This isn't just another Pride. It's one of the most politically charged in the former Soviet bloc, a defiant show of queer visibility where LGBTQ+ people don't have legal recognition and face documented violence. The advocacy groups organizing it have proven tough under constant pressure.

The 2026 Pride will likely run for a week in June. Its main march cuts through central Tbilisi, guarded by Georgian police and national security. In past years, ultra-nationalist groups and Georgian Orthodox Church organizations have tried to disrupt the march. Tbilisi Pride works closely with law enforcement on security long before the event.

Beyond the march, there's a full week of things to do: cultural events, film screenings, discussions on LGBTQ+ rights and Georgian civil society, community health events. Evenings mean gatherings at places tied to the underground scene—Bassiani, Khidi, Cafe Gallery, and Fabrika. For Georgia, it's a remarkable festival week. More and more people come from outside Georgia each year as the event gets more attention. You'll find visitors from Germany, France, the UK, the United States, and Israel, among others.

IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE: Tbilisi Pride isn't like most Western European Pride events when it comes to security. Counter-protesters have tried to physically break up the march before; organized violence against LGBTQ+ people has happened near Pride events in Georgia. If you go, you should: follow all security advice from Tbilisi Pride; stay on the protected march route; travel in groups; keep in touch with other attendees; don't travel alone to or from Pride events; and register with Tbilisi Pride or your embassy if you're coming from outside Georgia. The Tbilisi Pride website and social media will put out detailed security guidance in the weeks before it starts.
