About this place Juniper Kitchen & Bar

Juniper Kitchen & Bar, inside Axel Hotel Berlin, is a smooth spot for a drink and a meal in Schöneberg, Berlin’s long-standing gay neighborhood.

It’s a lounge bar and a full restaurant all in one, which means it works just as well for a casual beer as it does for a proper dinner. The kitchen does German food, but modern, with local ingredients and contemporary techniques.

The drinks are a particular draw. Juniper distills its own gins, made right there in Berlin, and those show up in the cocktails. It’s a nice detail, that commitment to local spirits.

Staff are friendly, the place feels social, and they often have comedy or performances, which is a good way to meet people. If you’re in Berlin and want a reliable, comfortable place for food, drinks, and company, Juniper’s a solid bet.

Juniper Kitchen is part of the Axel Hotel and is a place quite popular in the gay community. The bar and restauant offers a nice selection of drinks and dishes. However, for vegan people there are only chips as an option. It's wheelchair freindly and the interior is very modern, the waiters very friendly and fast. On most Friday nights there are performances from within the gay community of Berlin, e.g. drag queen and music performances.

Came here on the 26th of December, there was almost nobody else but that says nothing about how amazing this place is. Great food, extremely friendly staff and overall the place gives off a cozy vibe.
