About this place Phoenix Park Cruising Area

Phoenix Park has been part of queer Dublin for generations, long before the city had a single gay bar. The action concentrates at the western, quieter end of the park: the S-Bends along Upper Glen Road and the wooded paths around the Furry Glen. On warm days a steady trickle of men walk the trails between the two, and regulars know the rhythm well. This is one of Europe's largest walled city parks, so a bit of orientation helps. Enter via Chapelizod Gate or Knockmaree and follow Upper Glen Road; the S-Bends are the twisting stretch where the road dips through trees. The Furry Glen, a hollow around a small lake just north of Chapelizod Gate, has shaded paths where people wander off the main loop. Daytime and the golden hours before dusk are the accepted window - the park is unlit at night, deer roam freely, and the gates on side roads close in the evening. Keep it discreet and legal: public sex is an offence in Ireland if it causes offence to others, and the park is patrolled by its own constabulary. Stay well away from families and picnic areas, take everything you brought home with you, and keep valuables out of sight. Phones work fine throughout the park if you prefer to arrange things on an app first and just use the park for the walk.

One of the largest enclosed city parks in Europe, perfect for walking, cycling, jogging, or enjoying a picnic. Home to Dublin Zoo, with wild deer roaming freely throughout the grounds . Can't recommend this enough
