via Stay22About this place Encore
This South End bed and breakfast, at 116 West Newton Street, offers a real alternative to a conventional hotel stay, especially if you’re an LGBTQ+ traveler.
It’s in Boston’s mostly gay neighborhood, the South End, which means you’ll be walking distance from galleries, restaurants, and plenty of bars. Think tree-lined streets, not sprawling avenues.
The place occupies a 19th-century townhouse. They’ve updated it, of course, but it still feels like a home, not a hotel. You get historic character here—the kind of architectural detail you won’t find at a chain—without giving up modern comforts.
With 21 rooms, it’s bigger than your average B&B, but it keeps that personal touch. It’s also been named "Best of Boston" by Gay New England, which is a good sign. If you want to be in the middle of Boston’s LGBTQ+ scene without staying somewhere corporate, this is worth checking out.

Hard location to get in
Great place if you like casinos. Tough to get to if you're coming from south of Boston. The room was outstanding and we didn't pay for it which was great. Expensive if you're paying for the room. The casino is decent, but table games get very crowded late on weekends. Overall a good experience and parking is free which is nice.
Great Casino. Not as big as Vegas. All the newest slot machines you could want. Visited on June 2026.
