via Stay22About this place Sushi Taiyo
This sushi place on the Magnificent Mile is a quiet spot to duck into when the shopping gets to be too much. It's a solid choice for LGBTQ+ travelers who want good sushi in a part of town that otherwise isn't known for it.
Chicago's gay dining scene is scattered all over, from dives to white tablecloths. This is one of the more relaxed options, a place for contemporary Japanese food without any fuss. Expect nigiri, rolls, and seasonal specials. It's all fresh, well-prepared, and exactly what you'd want.
You'll find it on East Ontario Street, right in the downtown shopping district. Good for a break from buying things, or if you're meeting friends nearby. Check taiyochicago.com for the menu. It's the kind of place you can just chill out and eat well.

The best seaweed salad I've ever had! Amazingly fresh & perfect amount of crunch.
Shushi is delicious but service is bad enough. I wouldn't recommend to try it.
I visited the Chinese section and ordered a bowl of noodles. I got a huge portion, which I could hardly finish. Excellent value for money!
