The White Party Palm Springs is one of the big ones. It’s an April fixture for American circuit parties, pulling in about 30,000 gay men from everywhere for a long weekend of main events, pool parties, and the whole circuit social scene.
It started small in 1989, just a private pool party Jeffrey Sanker threw. Now it’s probably the biggest circuit event in the US.
Expect the Palm Springs Convention Center to be packed for the main events — 10,000 or more people for Saturday night. The days before and after are full of pool parties at the big hotels, plus dozens of other events all over town.
You’ll see the regulars here, the guys who hit every circuit party from Miami’s White Party at Vizcaya to Montreal’s Black & Blue. But plenty of others treat this as their yearly trip.
Palm Springs itself is part of the draw: the desert, the mountains, the pool culture. It’s a good place for this kind of party. Just book your hotel three or four months out, seriously.
