Dick's Cafe is a gay bar in Bangkok's Surawong area, inside Duangthawee Plaza, that's been around for over ten years.
It's a low-key spot, good for escaping the heat or grabbing a pre-game meal before hitting the nearby gay bars. Think Casablanca meets tropical, with a touch of modern design that keeps it from feeling stuffy. You can sit outside and watch the street, which is always busy.
The food here is cheap, some of the best value you'll find in Bangkok’s gay scene. It's the kind of place you go for a casual drink, not a big night out. You can linger, talk to other travelers, and get tips without feeling pressured to move on.
The sweet spot for a visit is around 8pm or 9pm. Have dinner or a beer before you walk to the Soi Twilight gay bars and gogo clubs, which are right nearby. The same team behind Tarntawan Place runs it, so expect a consistently friendly vibe.

Nice chill atmosphere and good food. We had great service from Aun!
Excellent service, food and decor. 7 of us arrived for dinner without prior notice. The decor is stylish European with thai touches, the table settings elegant, the food was beautifully presented. All 7 meals were delicious and very reasonably priced in the 200-300 baht range for thai meals. Popular Western meals also available. The staff were friendly, spoke English and the service was 5 star. An unexpected gem of a restaurant in Jomtien Walking Street.
Absolutely perfect in every regard. I had the masaman curry with chicken and banana split for dessert and I give a resounding 10/10 for everything. The waiter couldn’t do enough. Thank you so much for an exquisite culinary experience.
The service was friendly. The food was really good and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was okay.
