Hotspot Description:
German and Austrian breakfast, lunch and dinner Traditional and cozy café/restaurant/bar serving German and Austrian specialties — including schnitzel, Königsberger Klopse (meatballs) and Matjesfilet (salty fish) — but with an Italian/mediterranean thing going on too. The bar side of the operation kicks in later in the evening, with an emphasis on gay male. Located in a quiet street in Prenzlauer Berg, where it opened in 1993, when it was far more gay-specific. The outdoor seating really comes into its own in summer. Same owner as Perle Bar [see entry]. The kitchen closes early on Sunday (10pm).
