Best-kept-non-secret bar
A 'reformed' brothel that's now a Berlin bar like no other, with a clientele seemingly connected to or inspired by the site's previous incarnation. If pinball machines were sleazy/seedy and you could walk into them, this is what you'd get. Decorated from floor to ceiling with memorabilia, kitsch and the indeterminate, the bar is the antithesis of sterile. At weekends it's buzzy with a mix of genuine characters, nearly all very colourful, many of them from za old dayz. It makes for a heady after-hours experience, and it's only a short-seeming inebriated walk from the Motzstraße. Until the turn of the century it was called Kumpelnest 2000. Started in 1987.
