Hotspot Description:
Italian & American cuisine such as pizza, seafood & steak served in a casual, Old World setting.
One of the best Italian restaurants in Chicago. The calamari was fresh, and my gnocchi gorgonzola was just the best gnocchi I've ever had. The drinks are great and strong (rye Manhattan, anyone?). The staff, from bus staff to management is top notch. And the servers do almost an elaborate dance when the restaurant is full. Very impressed with every aspect of Calo. Parking lot is across the street and fills up, though it's quite large. I recommend early reservations (7pm or a bit earlier) and patience. It's casual in dress code and very high in quality. Daily specials menu from appetizers to drinks to desserts. Portions are large. Plan on taking home lunch for the following day. Excellent.
