Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals in Colorado have rights as non lgbtq+ individuals. Same sex relationships have been legally accepted in Colorado since 1972. The state recognized same sex marriages in October 2014. Introduced civil unions in 2013 to provide similar rights and benefits as marriage.
