Heartland Pride is a celebration in Omaha that honors the lgbtq+Q+ community. This annual event showcases the citys commitment to supporting and commemorating the history, diversity and future success of the lgbtq+Q+ community in the Omaha/Council Bluffs Metro Areas. The festivities usually consist of community centered activities such as the Pride Parade held in the Old Market, an annual Pride Pageant and a vibrant Pride Festival in Omaha that includes a fair with vendors and organizations. Moreover Heartland Pride actively engages with the community throughout the year not during Pride Month. For example they set up a Pop Up Pride location in the Old Market where people can get a sneak peek at what to expect during the festival. They also organize events like Drag Queen Storytimes and Rainbow Family Days. With its emphasis on inclusivity, education and celebration Heartland Pride holds significance as a cherished event, in Omaha.
