Established in 2009, Jasper Pride has grown to become one of the most highly anticipated events in the region. The festival is organized by the Jasper Pride Festival Society, a non-profit organization whose mission is to create a safe and inclusive environment for the lgbtq+Q2+ community and their allies in Jasper National Park.
During the festival, attendees can participate in numerous outdoor and indoor activities. Some of the popular events include skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing in the nearby Marmot Basin Ski Resort, as well as ice-skating, dog-sledding, and exploring the stunning nature trails in the park. The Jasper Pride Festival Society has the purpose of creating an annual Pride Festival in Jasper National Park in support of the local and visiting Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual , Transgender, Questioning and Allies community. The Society plans, hosts and fundraises throughout the year to bring this festival and related events to our word-class destination in the Canadian Rockies.
Third-largest Pride Celebration in Alberta, the only Winter Pride Festival in the Canadian Rocky Mountains and the only one in a Canadian National Park taking place late March or early April every year. It attracts visitors from around the world.
Since its foundation in 2009 and the event has grown exponentially. In 2013 a not-for profit Society was founded with the support of Jasper's business community, Tourism Jasper and the Jasper Chamber of Commerce.

Jasper is a traditionally diverse and welcoming community attracting travelers, workers, students, ski bums and residents from all over the world. This unique atmosphere is a perfect fit for the resident queer community, the lgbtq+ traveler and the many lgbtq+ couples who wed in Jasper every year. They all have their favorite hang-outs in town… but we will let you find that out by yourself.
The businesses in Jasper are full of Pride stickers in their windows and our mayor traditionally opens our Pride Festival. Last year for the first time the rainbow flag was officially raised at our Fire Hall for International Day against Homophobia. Our local advocacy group OUT Jasper has been a popular focal point for the queer community for years. The lgbtq+ friendliness of Jasper has been noted all around Canada and been featured in various media outlets, lgbtq+, alternative, mainstream.
