Santa Fe Pride, also known as Pride on the Plaza, is the signature lgbtq+Q+ celebration in New Mexico’s capital. Organised by the Santa Fe Human Rights Alliance, this week-long festival transforms “The City Different” into a kaleidoscope of colour and culture every June. The 2025 edition ran from June 21‑29, culminating in Pride on the Plaza when the historic Santa Fe Plaza was filled with live music, vendor booths, an artisan market and family-friendly activities. That same morning thousands joined the Pride Parade as it wound down Marcy Street and Washington Avenue to the Plaza. Throughout Pride Week there were queer film nights, history panels, a youth dance and drag bingo nights. These events showcased Santa Fe’s inclusive spirit and raised awareness of local lgbtq+Q+ history. The festival has evolved from small marches in the 1970s to one of New Mexico’s largest celebrations of diversity, attracting visitors from across the Southwest. Local leaders and long-time attendees describe it as a tradition woven into the fabric of the city. Looking ahead, the Santa Fe Human Rights Alliance is planning Pride 2026. Exact dates and programming have not yet been confirmed, but the festival is expected to follow the late‑June pattern with a week of community events leading up to a Saturday celebration on the Plaza. Attendees can look forward to a colourful parade, live performances by regional artists, local food vendors, craft markets and plenty of opportunities to support lgbtq+Q‑friendly businesses. Whether you’re a Santa Fe native or visiting from afar, Pride 2026 promises a warm welcome and a chance to experience the city’s rich mix of Indigenous, Hispanic and Anglo cultures. Check the official HRA Santa Fe website for announcements and plan to be part of this vibrant, inclusive celebration next June. Official Website
