Budapest Pride 2024 is a celebration of lgbtq+Q+ pride that takes place in the city of Budapest, Hungary. This vibrant event occurs during June or early July and spans a week filled with a range of cultural, social and political activities leading up, to the grand parade.
The parade route traditionally commences at City Park. Culminates at the Hungarian Parliament Building. Drawing in a multitude of participants and spectators this pride event proudly stands as one of the gatherings celebrating diversity in Central and Eastern Europe.
Despite facing opposition from conservative groups, including government entities Budapest Pride organizers remain dedicated to championing lgbtq+Q+ rights and visibility within Hungary. Their unwavering determination has allowed this event to persist through circumstances.
In essence Budapest Pride holds significance for the community in Hungary. It symbolizes resilience. Serves as a testament, against discrimination and oppression.
As in previous years, this year we are opening the possibility for you to come to the 29th Budapest Pride on June 22, 2024 by vehicle. Would you like to start a vehicle but don't know how? You can find answers to some important questions in the article below.
This year, our goal is to have more trucks and vehicles in the parade than last year, ensuring music and a good atmosphere.
Launching a vehicle at Pride can undoubtedly mean a higher level of social responsibility and activism for any NGO, informal group, company or political party, as this opportunity guarantees greater visibility at one of Hungary's largest civil parades.
Depending on the conditions of the route, you can choose from several types of vehicles, from trucks to flatbed cars, to Tuk Tuks and rickshaws.
You can place your own molinos in a prominent place on your chosen vehicle , decorate them to express your own spirit , and hand out your flyers next to them . Thus, by providing a good atmosphere through their musical vehicles, they were able to establish contact with the marching crowd much more easily.
The vehicle launch is free for civil organizations and informal groups . In the case of lgbtq+Q businesses, we provide a significant discount, while profit-oriented companies can join the parade for a donation , which can also be counted as a useful CSR activity. The donations received from the vehicle launch will be used entirely to partially cover the costs of the Budapest Pride Parade. As an independent civil society organization, we no longer accept donations from political parties.
