The Diversity Ball has a wonderful, diverse history. Initiated in 2007 by Monika Haider to visibly integrate sign language into society. Since then, sign language has been the central language of the ball and represents all minority languages in Austria. In 2021, the ball was spun off from the equalizent competence center and has since been organized by the Diversity Ball association.

Our mission at Diversity Ball is to create an inclusive and diverse community that welcomes people of all backgrounds, genders, sexualities and generations. We believe that cooperation and understanding are the key to a successful and harmonious society. Through our annual event, which offers a unique combination of music, dance and entertainment, we strive to celebrate and support diversity and social acceptance. Our goal is to create a platform where all voices are heard and every individual feels safe and respected. We are proud to fulfill our mission and be part of a movement for a better world.
