Bristol Pride has grown from a grassroots protest to one of the UK's largest lgbtq++ celebrations. Each summer it transforms the city into a carnival of solidarity and self-expression, bringing tens of thousands of people together. In 2026 the festival returns for its sixteenth edition, running from 27 June to 12 July. Over these two weeks Bristol will host film screenings, theatre performances, dog shows, club nights and community events that shine a light on queer voices and raise funds for local causes. The festival culminates on Pride Day, Saturday 11 July, when the streets fill with rainbows for a joyful march through the city and a massive party on The Downs.
The 2025 edition set a high bar. Around twenty-five thousand people marched through the city centre before spilling onto the historic Downs for a free open‑air festival. More than thirty-eight thousand revellers enjoyed performances from over 200 artists across multiple stages, along with drag shows, spoken word, family activities, bars and street food vendors. Pride Day has become an outdoor multi‑stage extravaganza where indie bands share the bill with pop legends and emerging queer performers, all presented at affordable ticket prices to keep the event open to everyone.
But Bristol Pride is not just about big stages and glitter. At its core it remains a campaign for equality and visibility. The march honours those who paved the way, while the festival uses its platform to champion lgbtq+Q+ rights and support initiatives that combat discrimination and isolation. In the run‑up to Pride Day the festival hosts a film festival, panel discussions, boat cruises on the Avon, a silent disco and a dog show, welcoming families, allies and newcomers into the fold. Local businesses and venues also join in, creating a city‑wide celebration.
As of now the 2026 lineup and parade details are still to be confirmed, but organisers have announced that the festival will return from 27 June to 12 July with Pride Day on 11 July. More information about acts, volunteer opportunities and accessibility will be published closer to the date.
