Harlem Pride is an annual celebration that takes place in the historic neighborhood of Harlem in New York City. The event is typically held during the month of June, which is recognized as Pride Month in the United States and around the world.

Harlem Pride is a community-led initiative that aims to celebrate and support the LGBTQ+ community in Harlem and the surrounding areas.  The event typically features a range of activities and programing, including a parade, live performances, food and drink vendors, and educational workshops and panels.

The parade is one of the most anticipated events of Harlem Pride, with participants marching through the streets of Harlem in colorful costumes and waving rainbow flags. The parade typically concludes with a rally in a local park, where community leaders and activists speak about issues facing the LGBTQ +  community and call for greater acceptance and equality.

Harlem Pride features a range of other activities and events. Live performances by local musicians and artists are a highlight, with stages set up throughout the neighborhood showcasing a range of talent. There are also food and drink vendors selling a range of cuisine, as well as informational booths and displays highlighting the work of local LGBTQ+ organizations.

Averaging over 21,000 people in attendance at our Harlem Pride Day Celebration Days, our community organizations and vendors are able to interact with a large segment of our SGL•LGBTQ population, including visitors from the eastern seaboard to the west coast and beyond. 1. Check out the parade: The Harlem Pride parade is one of the highlights of the event, so be sure to catch it if you can. The parade typically starts on 135th Street and ends at St. Nicholas Avenue.
   
   
2. Explore the neighborhood: Harlem has a rich history and culture, so take some time to explore the area around the parade route.  Check out the Apollo Theater, the Studio Museum in Harlem, and the Abyssinian Baptist Church.
   
   
3. Plan your transportation: Public transportation can be crowded during the event, so plan ahead and consider taking a cab or ride-share service if you're in a rush.
   
   
4. Dress comfortably: It can get hot and crowded during Harlem Pride, so be sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Don't forget to bring sunscreen and a hat to protect yourself from the sun.
