ColognePride 2023, also known as CSD (Christopher Street Day) Cologne, is set to be a vibrant and important event, scheduled to take place from June 24th to July 9th. This event serves as a joint demonstration for lesbians, gays, bisexuals, pansexuals, transsexuals, transgenders, intersexuals, and their friends and supporters. It aims to promote full social recognition and equal rights for all, while also celebrating self-confidence, joie de vivre, and community spirit.
The event's motto for 2023 is "FOR HUMAN RIGHTS - Many. Together. Strong!" This motto encapsulates the event's aim to support individual rights and collective human rights. It is designed to be applicable for several years in the spirit of sustainability, and participants are encouraged to adapt it to their own reality of life to remain visible in the fight for rights.
A cornerstone of ColognePride is the CSD Street Festival, the largest street festival in Cologne, which will immerse Cologne's old town in a proud, colourful, and diverse light over three days. The festival will feature a 60-hour programme of political discussion, information, and regional and international show acts across three stages. The festival is scheduled to take place from July 7th to July 9th, with various timings each day.
The highlight of ColognePride is the CSD demonstration, which is one of the largest demonstrations of its kind, attracting around 1.4 million visitors. The demonstration is a significant undertaking, with planning for the next demonstration beginning shortly after the end of the previous one. The demonstration is scheduled to start punctually at 12 p.m.
