In March 2026 Dallas will again transform into a sea of beards and smiles when the BearDance party returns. BearDance Dallas grew out of the Texas Bear Round-Up charity weekend and has become the hottest ticket of the TBRU schedule. On Friday 13 March 2026 the doors open at Station 4 (S4), a cavernous 24 000 square foot club on Cedar Springs Road. The evening starts with an "Opposites Attract" mixer at 8 p.m., giving strangers a chance to mingle over drinks before the main show starts. Once the lights dim, resident and guest DJs take over the booth, pumping out house and pop tunes that keep the dance floor packed well past midnight. Performances are scheduled around 11 p.m. and again at midnight, and the line-up usually features drag royalty and local entertainers. The party doesn't wind down until 4 a.m., so pace yourself and remember to step out onto the patio now and then for some fresh air. What makes BearDance special isn't just the music. Organised by BearDance, Inc., a 501(c)3 charity, the event raises money for Dallas-area lgbtq+Q+ causes. Over the years BearDance has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to services such as youth outreach, HIV programmes and community centres. Ticket sales help fund these donations, so every drink and every ticket really does some good. Volunteers from the Dallas Bears run much of the event, adding a personal touch that keeps the mood friendly and light-hearted. Expect to see a diverse crowd of bears, cubs, otters, chasers and just about anyone who enjoys a welcoming, body-positive environment. Because BearDance is part of the wider Texas Bear Round-Up, it coincides with a full weekend of activities. Earlier in the day you might join the TBRU street fair, pub crawls or pool parties. Cedar Springs, sometimes called "the Strip", is lined with gay bars, coffee houses and diners, so there is plenty to do before and after the dance. The neighbourhood is also just a short taxi ride from downtown, but many visitors choose to stay close by so they can walk to the clubs. Details such as the theme and guest performers for 2026 will be announced closer to the date, but the organisers promise world-class DJs and a high-energy crowd. Tickets usually go on sale several months in advance and premier access packages, which include reserved seating for the drag shows, tend to sell out quickly. If you are planning to attend the Texas Bear Round-Up, set aside your Friday night for BearDance. Come as you are and be ready to sweat, laugh and cheer with a thousand new friends.
